Creating the right climate for microfinance success
M-CRIL provides the microfinance sector with data and analysis on current trends, state of the sector, role of different stakeholders and services and products. Drawing from the rating database, M-CRIL utilizes its databank productively to come-up with unique and insightful trend analysis which draws the attention of MFIs, investors, donors, government, bilateral and multilateral agencies as well as lenders.
Honing its analytical skills and expertise, M-CRIL also provides support in business planning for re-structuring and products and services assessment of MFIs and institutions to meet the current market/sector demands and client needs. New forays in microinsurance as well as savings and other social products are some of the other key initiatives in the financial services domain that have been made of late. Other types of assessment include product innovations, a business proposition of products and services and market research on credit needs and feasibility of implementation.
M-CRIL has developed a comprehensive understanding of systems and resources required for running successful microfinance operations. M-CRIL uses this experience to assess the capacity building needs of MFIs across regions. The Capacity Building Needs Assessment report details areas of improvement across the MFI's operations and recommends appropriate actions for improving the MFI's capacity.
M-CRIL conducts a regular monitoring exercise with domestic and international MFIs for assessment of their performance. This service is aimed at delivering sustainability reports and chart performance to make better business decisions and solutions. Monitoring services are comprised of combinations of ratings, desk reviews and capacity building needs assessments of MFIs. M-CRIL sets performance targets for an MFI and makes recommendations to address areas of weakness. Longer term monitoring and investment appraisal enables MFIs to transform their operations to create sustainable businesses.
